Hello Eaton County Democrats!

The Eaton County Democratic Party is keeping busy! We started off the month right, having a joint potluck with the Blue Brigade! Then we had fair booth volunteers at the Eaton County Fair for 9 hours a day for an entire week! We reached hundreds of county residents, some of whom will join us at meetings in the coming months. We continue to grow attendance at our monthly meetings. We met for a social event at Delta Twp Music in the Park! We also have robust plans to bring more social events throughout the county to connect Democrats and build strong relationships while we prepare for 2024.

There are still plenty of events to look forward to. On Thursday, August 17, we will head to watch the Lansing Lugnuts for a fun night out. And then on Tuesday, August 22, we will be back at One North Kitchen and Bar for our monthly meeting.

Even more exciting, our annual dinner fundraiser is set to take place on Thursday, October 12, so be sure to save the date! We will have tickets for sale shortly.

While you may need to wait for tickets to the annual dinner, the wait is over for ECDP t-shirts! WE FINALLY HAVE OUR ORDER.

Lastly, we are also fortunate to have received a grant from Contest Every Race to support the work of our county party going forward through 2024. Not only does this provide us funding, but we will also receive access to a texting program to reach more Democrats throughout the county. This is huge news for our county party as we continue to build a well-oiled and functioning machine to beat Republicans next year. To achieve that, I need your help on two things:

  1. Finding Democratic Candidates. Far too many of our local elections go uncontested, with Republicans automatically winning. We cannot let that happen next year. The Republican party has been taken over by extremists, especially here in Michigan, and we must fight back at every level. Please help us find local Democrats who are interested in running for local office. Send me names or have them reach out at chair@eatondems.org.
  2. Funding Critical Resources. Last year we were able to contribute historical amounts to local candidates. We are also ranked 5th for the most impactful rural county in the country. However, Republicans continue to outraise our candidates. If we are going to win in 2024, we need to give it our all. If you are able to contribute, there are few places that make as big of an impact as us. You can find all the information to contribute here.

Together we can win Eaton County in 2024. Join us at meetings, volunteer for campaigns when the time comes, and let’s win this fight.
