Check Your Voter Registration!
To vote, you need to be registered! Luckily, you can register to vote at anytime, including on Election Day!
1. Check your voter registration
2. If you are not registered or it is outdated, register!
If more than 14 days before the election, register online!
If 14 days or less before Election Day, register in-person at your local clerk’s office.
Choose Your Voting Method
Absentee Voting
Absentee ballots are available starting 40 days before Election Day. You can request an absentee ballot Online, By Mail, or at your local clerk’s office.
You can also join the Permanent Absentee Ballot List and receive a ballot for all future elections;
Once you complete your ballot and sign the outer envelope, you can return it by mail, to your city or township drop box, or to your local clerk’s office.
You can check that your ballot has arrived without any errors.
Early Voting
Michigan now has 9 days of in-person Early Voting! You are able to put your ballot into a tabulator, just like on Election Day.
Early Voting runs from the second Saturday before Election Day to the Sunday right before Election Day.
Election Day
Polls are open on Election Day from 7 AM to 8 PM local time.
If you need to register to vote, you must vote at your local clerk’s office. If you are already registered, you must vote at your polling precinct.
